Technical diving is scuba diving’s “extreme” sport, taking experienced and qualified divers far deeper than in recreational diving. Technical diving is marked by significantly more equipment and training requirements to manage the additional hazards technical diving entails. Tec diving is not for everyone, but for those who hear the call, PADI TecRec Courses at Lancaster Scuba Center can be the answer.
Lancaster Scuba Center is proud to be Central PA and Northern MD’s only PADI Tec Rec Center. We are able to offer a full range of PADI Tec Rec courses for the open circuit diver. PADI Tec Rec program offers a systematic instructionally valid, seamless approach for a diver to progress from a recreational diver. With the progression though the Tec Rec program a diver expands their training at an incremental level and not just going from recreational diving to trimix diving in one large leap. Each person that enters into technical diving has their own reasons and motivations, so every course is not for everyone. Each diver has to ask themselves if they are willing and able to accept the risk and responsibilities associated with technical diving? If your answer is, YES, or you want to learn more, check out our course offerings below.
You can give technical diving a try with a Discover Tec session, but the first technical diving qualification is Tec 40, a rating that lets you make decompression dives to 130 feet using air or EANx mix with up to 50% oxygen content.
